It Doesn't Take Much

Inspired specifically by the plight of the National Parks, which took years of effort and stewardship to create and protect, and now could disappear in the paltry space of one presidential term. This timeline is trash, I'd like a new one please.

Lyrics

It doesn’t take much to destroy A petulant child A favorite toy An intricate something it took years to create Takes a mere few seconds to decimate All those things that you used to enjoy It doesn’t take much to destroy

It doesn’t take much to wipe out There was so much to do, now we do without We’ve got oil in the water and gas in the air Cuz someone had to stick it to somebody somewhere And there are no more shadows of doubt It doesn’t take much to wipe out

Fat bloated billionaires Think that they’re not out of touch That they’re heroes and such But when it comes to the country Trust me It doesn’t take much

It doesn’t take much to consume You only have to be The biggest mouth in the room Burning through resources as if you were The only human being on the entire earth But they say nature abhors a vacuum And it doesn’t take much to consume

So many great lines here and so many great points and so beautifully sung. Like that you kept it stripped down and all about the lyrics, so the message doesn't get lost. "It doesn’t take much to consume You only have to be The biggest mouth in the room" Amazing!

Perhaps my favorite song of your's, @carleybaer! I love the sentiment, and the melody and chords (and playing) are simple and beautiful. Your voice is fantastic, and you just nailed it here. I think I know who you're talking about. Thanks for creating this one. I could listen to this one again and again. I would find a way to give this one a wider release.

Only ever so slightly tangentially related, since you mention "toy" in your first verse, I just wrote a song about wanting a yo-yo, a more hopeful song than your's. (I needed to cleanse a bit of anger from my brain).
