Cold Feet

When I wrote these lyrics, it was originally supposed to be a heartfelt ukulele number. Then at the last minute I was like UGH NO and did this instead, and I like it a lot better.

Lyrics

I should’ve jumped right in But I was scared of the temperature shocking my skin You wanted an answer I wanted to comply But then at the last minute I

Got cold feet, cold feet Cold right down to the bone Cold feet, and now I’m all alone

I understand why you left Different moments but both of us bereft You wanted commitment I wanted to die Said yes but at the last minute I

Got cold feet, cold feet Cold right down to the bone Cold feet, and now I’m all alone

I’m still looking for my yesterday It’s all gone now that my baby’s gone away

Got cold feet, cold feet Cold right down to the bone Cold feet, and now I’m all alone

Love the IV-iv! Certainly sounds Beatle-y to me. Very catchy!!! Great multi-track vocals.

Nice harmonies, great hook. Loving the chromatic down walk. Fantastic work.

Immediately caught with the double tracked vocal, then the harmonies hit - yowza. Is that a 4 major-4 minor shift I hear at the end of the chorus? I'm sure this is better than the alternate timeline uke version, but it would be interesting to compare the two.

Fun, wholesome, 50's feel. Beautiful harmonies. I suspect "all alone" is better than the alternative. BTW great to hear your beautiful voice again!

I'm getting supreme Motown vibes. And your Carlettes are a fabulous backing group. Or is this group Carley and the Bear facts?

This is beautiful! Not only Beatles vibes but I got some really strong ELO vibes too! Awesome! The lyric flows sooooo goood.

Wow Carley- I always love what you sculpt from the BSC prompt but this is so perfectly Beatles esque… and truly darling! I love the backing harmonies on the chorus the way they harken to that very 60s “it won’t be long” feeling!
