Thanks for checking out and commenting on my song Chthonic Triad! For guitar tone I use a preset on my Line 6 HX stomp. I've always struggled with creating a good tone myself, so one of the benefits of that device is you can download other people's presets. The effect chain has a gate which reduces noise quite a bit, I think that's commonly used in djent. And I think the distortion is kept pretty low. I've heard that for recording metal guitars, less is more when it comes to distortion. Also when I record, I've been double tracking the guitars and I pan each track all the way to either side, so that helps to create a much bigger sound. Although with that technique, I think you run into a phase issue which is more apparent on phone speakers, so I have to research what to do about that. Keep up the rhymes, your work is very creative!
