Early riser

It’s another cold morning, but I can’t stay in bed Too many thoughts are flying, racing round my head I can see the dawn approaching, another day begins I will not waste my time, worrying about pointless things

I can see some red appearing, traced out in the sky Like a cosmic painting, arranged from up on high But there’s little sign of movement, the trees are standing still If I can’t be happy today, I know I never will

Nature has a way of healing, making people whole Touches deep inside you, right down to your soul

Now people start to appear, going about their day Making their decisions, work hard first then play I’m still sitting contemplating, another day ahead I could still be safe and warm, cocooned inside my bed

But nature has a way of healing, it cares for every soul Touches deep inside you, a chance to become whole
