I'm with you on the guitar solos! The only thing more boring is the drum solos that were so popular a thousand years ago when I was still in school. So glad you were inspired to write a song about them! 😀

@mrsqueeze and @nadine You aren't alone with this. I've never understood the musical point of guitar solos. And me having heavy background in metal, I've endured quite a many guitar solos.
Anyway, this is also quite a beautiful song. Very harmonic, and got a nice flow.

Very interesting and relatable lyrics. I asked myself if I'm the only one who couldn't enjoy 2 minute solos. The endless wait for something to happen. And yet your lyrics could have a sense of "Now you're gone I hope I don't hear stuff that reminds me of you".

I like how the complaint expands in that last stanza to encompass some more elements your narrator/persona doesn't want to listen to. The lyrics feel nicely weighted that way, not static.
