Not always this dark, but sometimes it just feels like everything's all fucked up.
Lyrics
The smog, it settles on the ground There agrochemicals are found They leach to sea at length The food has no nutritional worth No living water's left on the earth And when you thirst Drink in these words:
It’s all fucked up It’s too far gone Cancer lives in every stone The trail of crumbs That leads the way back home is lost
Religion is so corrupt And all the shit that they fucked up It makes no sense It's not what Jesus meant
It’s all fucked up It’s too far gone Cancer lives on every throne The trail of crumbs That leads the way back home
Is subject to the slightest wind The dark forest All that’s within But the way back home Is shown to those Who grow to know the whole
Body, mind, and now spirit Show all the signs of of drug addicts Hooked on the smog Of once jealous gods
We're all fucked up We're too far gone Cancer lives in every bone A trail of blood leads into the unknown...

You're amazing. I love how slowly and deliberately you reveal each syllable on its own note, letting the meaning sprout and grow. It's uncomfortable for the listener to go that slow, but that's the whole point I guess - you're not listening so I'll spell it out for you!
This is brutally honest and hauntingly beautiful. I could gush for quite some time about how much I love this song.
Well.shit....this is radio ready goodness.
Ha, ha. "I play a Silvertone acoustic ... and I've mic'd up the local factory for my dystopian backing track!"
Gloriously bleak; the track's the silver-lining from the cruft that inspired it.
The intro is great. Sounds like a lift into a dark, desperate cellar. I didn't expect the high guitar (?) and voice, but this really enhances the vibe. This song belong into a movie like Panem.
Oh goodness, I think this is my favorite thing I've heard today - and I've commented on able 20 songs. Excellent lyrics, wonderful variation between the sections, the transitions, the vocal melody and gorgeous accompaniment...chef's kiss
What an intro. Industrial and dark. Love it. You have a beautiful voice. The acoustic guitar sounds very sweet and trebly. Reverb adds a compelling atmosphere and you've incorporated lots of other imaginitive sounds which build intensity and intrigue, supporting the lyrics and message. I love it. What a start to your FAWM and can't wait to hear your next one.
Love the build up, love the message, love the arrangement, love the performance. First song I gave a second listen this FAWM. What a way to start.
Very nice production here, fits the dark theme and lyrics nicely, and certainly held this listener's attention for all five and a half minutes. Sounds really good! The contrast in pace between verse and chorus works well. Ooh, and the thunder...
Wow, this is lovely, with some stunning vocals and drama and mystery galore. The verses have a wonderful slow-burn vibe, drawing us in, and the chorus brings it all home with a great sense of resolution. Very immersive!
I absolutely love this!! The darkness speaks to all my sensibilities, but I especially love when you give a little hope via major chords in the bridge ("is subject to the slightest wind"). I got chills!
