Liner Notes
So number two and musically i needed to rock out a bit, then when a bit crazy and determined myself to put in some odd time signatures. With no forthought as i was jamming without melody i kept doing odd 5/4 bits and it all came together. Then i had to create it in logic which has been a nightmare!!! so its a bit mix rough, but i pretty pleased with being able to rock a little today.
I have been doing lots of writing (book wise) on society and life in general recently, and recognised there is so much to unlearn from what we've all been taught. whether is be from schooling or upbringing or society and the biggest thing is giving oneself permission to maybe go against the grain now and then. You'll hear i still refecting on the chaos of the world in a slightly more urghhhh way than the previous song, but this is still a positive song about inner freedoms and just going umph (no swearing) to various systems, with a smile on my face of course ;-) xxxxxx
PS- you'll hear the odd moan and groan ,and a random bass note or two at the start. thought i'd leave em in !!!!

Lyrics
See, a life is in disguise Feel, a rolling ball of time compare other men then stare into his eyes to see A struggle in mankind
Running above the ground then facing the fire retreating now dousing the flame watching fading away until unlearning shows the day from night somehow
Fight, battles leave behind Learn, a history lauered with plight Jealousy consumes Fakery assumed until a deeper path is right
Running above the ground then facing the fire retreating now dousing the flame watching fading away until unlearning shows the day from night somehow
Floating above the ground then feeling the breeze, expansion now Bringing a soul, lay bare shout, do you see me here and i'm proud Dancing until the daylight, naked as we are inside now Dousing the flamses, watch him coming my way and see unlearnings bring a new loved world,,,,,

Karl, I love me an odd time signature at the best of times so I was all over this. It's really very cool indeed. Even by your standards I thought the vocal harmonies in this one were absolutely superb. Really great work!
The disorientating 5/4 is and really leans into the chaos of the world... like there's no resolution and finality. Experiment harmonies as always, they're always so full bodied that allows the instrumentation to sort of goes where it wants without confusing the progression or anything
This is absolutely amazing! So unique and exuberant and powerful. That's some swell guitar, both rhythm and lead. Sharp lyrics, too!
it's beautiful to see what you can achieve when experimenting like you did here with the different time signature. I like how you sing it, the rhythm, very powerful. the intro to me sounds a bit different than the rest of the song and it's the opposite of boring. great production, your vocals, and those ad libs around 02:00.... listened twice. my final response when the song finished - "wow". cheers!
OMG! You are on fire this year. I love EVERYTHING about this song, the rocking rhythms, lyrics, the soul of the song. In particular, the out of ordinary rhythm of this couplet "Jealousy consumes, Fakery assumed" was particular impressive. I'm in awe and even more than the mastery of the composition, the meaning behind it strikes me most. Well done!
O.k. this is just perfect through and through. A lot of goof ideas here. Bam!
This has fantastic 90s vibes, really fancy love the bo Didley sensibilities to the 6/4 sections and the dropping of the beat to 5 really picks up the pace nicely. Great guitar work throughout and the vocal lines are fantastic. And a super clean ending
Aw man you are knocking it outta the park with this one. I love odd time sigs when they work like this! Those harmonies are lushhhh. You're just masterful at making music! Why aren't you writing for Manchester bands?! So so good!
Lovely.... puts me back on a beach north of Dublin in the early '70s jiving with a beautiful girl in the dunes to The Kinks and The Move on Radio Caroline on my sister's transistor... love the background lead and the harmonies... you still da bomb bubba.. Pearse
Really love this old school vibe! Pretty catchy song! The sound mix is perfect as always, love all the littles details u added to the production. Well done!
Fantastic job! Always up for some odd-time goodness, and this one flows so naturally. So good to hear the Karl signature vocal harmonies again. The riff at 2 minute mark is perfect. My first FAWM favorite for this year.
Wow, a great kind of 60s/70s vibe. Reminds me of some of the techniques the Beatles used.. Old school, nice. Great song.
Rockin' good stuff! The time signature gives a super cool jaunt. Massive vocal sounds. Such a wall of sound right in your face. It's so good! I need to hear this a lot more than once.
I love hearing someone going full tilt in 5/4, it sounds so urgent. Great melodies too!
Very solid writing, production and harmonies. The truncated bars of 5/4 in the chorus remind me of classic Yes
This has such a good groove! Love the stacked vocals. So much energy! Love it.
This rocks! The way you weave words and music together is incredibly intricate and well-executed. I love the energy and the vivid visuals. Pretty sure I am hearing some The Who influence here! It's fun from start to finish. I really hope you do something with this after FAWM!
Mad cap awesomeness dude!! Such a joy to listen to (and run to on my treadmill though you sure were testing my pace) 😅 What an AUDACIOUS start to Fawm you’re having!!
What a jam! I love the complexity here, and I'm envious of your phrasing.
Man, this is when you know you have something great—when the groove is still solid even with off time signatures. Your song is excellent, complex, and just so enjoyable! Fantastic
Yay the first song in odd meters I heard this FAWM. You found a great groove to jam along. Catchy guitars, and the vocals in the best 60s manner. It is not easy to find a good phrasing in odd signatures and you nailed it. The little break after the chorus is cool
i love this 60's garage band style. the effect on the vocal is perfect. also the mix is really good. vocals up front and guitar solo panned all the way to the side.
This is fantastic! Would be perfect for the soundtrack of a mid-2000s TV show!
