Hammers of Oblivion

Liner Notes
#metal #blackmetal #deathmetal #mnet I meant to take a day off from writing last night, but I got this pounding riff in my head and I had to write it down, which quickly turned into a full song. I then perused my list of song titles and "Hammers of Oblivion" was the obvious choice for such a pounding feel. The lyrics came out in more or less a stream of consciousness, but they turned out quite an apt metaphor for the current right-wing political climate where it's more important to have your way than do what's best for the people, where the lessons of the past and reason at large are shattered by the hammers of will.
Lyrics
Mercilessly, the hammers fall Shattering the memories Nostalgia brings no comfort Surrounded by enemies
Hammers of oblivion Drive the nails in, let the thoughts out Shattering the clarity Blunt force reigns supreme Pulverizing dregs of mind
Hammers of oblivion Harbingers of destruction Hammers of oblivion Bringers of affliction
Without a doubt, life will end In a mess under the hammer Cataclysmic damage done By the decay enamoured
Hammers of oblivion Drive the nails in, let the thoughts out Shattering the clarity Blunt force reigns supreme Pulverizing dregs of mind
Hammers of oblivion Harbingers of destruction Hammers of oblivion Bringers of affliction Hammers of oblivion

lemmy would have loved this, good one
Oh yeah, definitely a hammering feeling to this track. It's cool how the feeling is very heavy throughout the track and it never speeds up, just bulldozing onwards for the duration of the whole song. Like mentioned, commitment in the lyrics, but also in the overall song execution.
Now THAT is a song title 🤘 This is relentless. Like if Satyricon wrote crust punk instead of dry, artsy BM 🤣 Yeah, I'm liking this a lot.
"Love the commitment to the hammering motif in the lyrics." -> Same here. Yet again you made a... wait for it... absolute banger. Not much to say other than praises. This year you are one of my favourite fawmers, can't wait to hear more.
Love the commitment to the hammering motif in the lyrics. Brilliant stuff and the arrangement is as full on as you'd expect. Great vocal perfprmance too. Stonking start to the day.
You nailed it
