Solace in the songs of strangers

Liner Notes

Lyrics

I find solace in the songs of strangers This time of year is good for me It’s hard to tell you why, it’s hard to explain I let them wash all over me

Imagination runs, worlds are opened up Inspiration overflows, filling up my cup Too many different styles to mention Some appealing for redemption Others craving attention So many different styles

And everyone is civil And everyone is kind And every now and then You find a song sublime

I find solace in the songs of strangers I find solace in the songs of strangers

This song has been sitting in an open tab on my computer for days or maybe weeks. I think maybe the inner child who used to save her Halloween candy til Easter must have been saving this one up for the last official day of FAWM. It's always hard to put the Neighborhood of Make Believe back in the closet for the year. Thank you for keeping me company again this year. And for describing so beautifully what it feels like - while letting be find solace in your song.

Oh a beautiful FAWM tribute song. I think you summed it all up perfectly. FAWM feels like an escape from my real life where I can really immerse myself in my music and other people's music. It IS hard to describe, and I love the line "I let them wash all over me" - you feel immersed in the world of that FAWMer when you listen to their song - it is a beautiful thing. Taking an otherwise somewhat crappy month for many of us and creating this community that spends the month together making music. A beautiful one-take performance also. I actually came here for the title - such a great line and so relatable.

I really like this. I get some very Leonard Cohen vibes from this. Very well done.
