Read The Room

NSFWLiner Notes
After a conversation about writing songs to vent I went ahead and did one. This is dedicated to the many jackholes I've had to deal with throughout the years. And my apologies when I was the jackhole.
Lyrics
It's not that you are stupid It's not that you don't care But I wonder how You seem so unaware
Don't be an asshole!
When someone has a problem I guess you feel the need To argue and be right To show that you are deep
Don't be an asshole!
Why can't you read the room? I need you to read the room!
Have you ever noticed The cringe at what you say? Have you ever wondered Why we walk away?
Don't be an asshole!
One man's blockhead Can be another's treasure But take this middle finger As a goodbye gesture
Don't be an asshole
Why can't you read the room? I need you to read the room!
You don't try to be a dickhead But that's just what you are When it comes to courtesy You lower the bar
Why can't you read the room? I need you to read the room! Why can't you read the room?

The 'don't be an asshole' refrain is very effective, as is the title hook. The tone comes off as furious and reasonable at the same time, which is quite an achievement. The abrupt ending was funny - what needs to be said has clearly been said, they're not getting any more of your time.
I love this song so much! The punk angst comes through perfectly, the lyrics are clever and that refrain is insanely catchy. Really nice work!
Oh man this definitely has a classic punk rock sound—not the modern stuff that I don’t care for. Really I think that this song was born from a real experience and feeling, which is what makes it authentic instead of just writing for the style. Excellent!
i like the punkness of this tune. i also like that way it made me laugh. great guitar sound. great message. it’s like a public service announcement… nicely done.
Awesome!! Great lyric and music to match!! Love the production and performance… Super high energy and the vox on this or killer!!
Huge energy and great lyrics! Could we make this required listening before, oh, meetings and trainings and for job orientations? And play it in elevators too?
Boom! Starts with a really great punch in the face. Some good advice too. We're the a-hole sometimes, but when it's someone else being the a-hole it feels so good to yell expletives about it. 😄 I enjoyed this rant immensely.
This rocks and it's got it all. Hard guitars, bad ass lyrics and the cymbal grab at the end. \m/ \m/
Like the alternating vocal styles and attitude in this one!
