Madam Racecar

Challenge: PALINDROMELiner Notes
Karl: Once I googled the idea of the First Lady race car drivers, to fit Madam Racer, the plan was a Chuck Berry / Beach Boys style song. It ended up shamelessly Mamas & Papas, which is no bad thing. Considering my initial inaudible demo, this was really fun to record. Inspired by Louise Smith https://www.motorsportshalloffame.com/inductees/louise-smith/
Lyrics
Born in Georgia Raised in California Where she learnt to drive one day
Highway patrolmen Said you better slow down But she was too far away
In South Carolina They were looking for a line up So they signed her up for the race
Louise Smith 1946 Driving in her first NASCAR race
When everyone heard that she finished 3rd They knew it wouldn’t be her last race
So off to Daytona when the race was over They towed the family car away
Madam Racer Car thirteen On the cover of a magazine
Everyone who saw her Knew that she was more than Just another car on the track
Fearless, aggressive, always impressive Never ever one to hold back
And after every crash She always came back A new race car every time
Madam Racer Car thirteen On the cover of a magazine
38 wins everybody sings Welcome to the hall of fame
From New York, Alabama, South Carolina 11 years she spent on the track.
In a modified Ford The crowd never saw Anything like her before
Madam Racer Car thirteen On the cover of a magazine
Madam Racer Car thirteen On the cover of a magazine

Man, way to take a challenge prompt and run with it! I'd definitely spend some time polishing this one after the FAWM dust settles. I'm a autoracing fan, but never heard of Louise Smith. What a cool story!
If I had to suggest something to focus on, I think a few of the lyrics are a bit shoehorned in, so if it were me, I'd spend some time tweaking all the lyrics so they flow as smoothly as possible, but overall it's a great idea and an awesome song! #tit4tat
Wow, what a super revved up delivery and history. Personally am not a fan of racing (or any sports these days) but would have thought I would have heard of her by osmosis. Gonna have to look her up!
Oh, my! Takes me back to the 60’s. You guys are SO versatile! Great groove. I bet you had fun with this! I sure enjoyed listening.
This song is so much fun and sounds like you enjoyed writing it. It's catchy and has a cool, retro feel to it, really nice use of the challenge!
Sounds like it was a fun write. There’s a lot of Glen Tilbrook style rhyming couplets in here.
Very cute. I like the beat and the rhyming scheme. It's very catchy. Great creativity and unique subject. I'm all for women racers.
Wow! This is cool and fun! Good storytelling. This is a good demo. Would love to hear it finished on the radio 😄 Lovely upbeat style. Love how your chorus is in unexpected chords. #tit4tat
