Serious thanks for the post about spintunes. I believe I've come to the end of my time with FAWM this year. It's been a mostly good run, but a huge part of the experience for me was letting the jukebox run and then comment and follow when something tickled my fancy. That was a long time ago. The song pile is polluted now with generally crappy skirmish stuff that seems out of the spirit of what I remember we were here for way back in the day. On top of that, I hit an AI tune while busting zongs the first week, and that was the final straw for me bothering to put any effort in. My songs have gotten fewer and fewer comments over the years, mostly from what seem to be first time listeners, that to compete with AI fatbergs and turds in the pool of songs.... Fully realize this is an old-man rant - and owning that and coming to appreciate nostalgia of better times as not such a bad thing. My country is quickly sliding down the slippery slope into fascism, when everyone should recognize it wearing it's populist evening gown. Rant over. You have been an steady inspiration for so many years. Following you on Spotify now.

I find I’m getting the 80’s comment a lot. I don’t understand it yet, but I think I have an idea. :) To me, 80’s is marked by huge gated reverbs especially on snares and vocals, certain synth sounds, etc. I’ve also gotten the U2 comparison, so perhaps the guitar tone was used extensively first by U2 in the 80’s?
