Searching

Liner Notes
One of my friends has always been searching in life. Searching what she wanted to do, what she wanted to be good at, what job would suit her, who her friends are, etc. I tried to express the feeling of searching and not knowing in this song by using slightly erratic drums, unusual chords, a bit of a nervous #bassoon melody and some quintuplets in the melodies of the bassoon and viola. The #modulations represent her attempts to try different things in life.
#instrumental #soundtrack #strings with a hint of #ambient
Edit: I was thinking of shortening the song by just ending at 3:33 when the trumpet stops, or stopping at 3:40 having 1 final chord, or keeping it as is with the longer ending. Opinions? :)

Piano is exquisite - there is so much going on here and it does give the sense of someone really deeply searching for something. I would either end at 3.40 with one final chord or keep it as it is - the end section is lovely. #tit4tat
The combination of different instruments works brilliantly. Definitely conveys the searching journey your friend is on.
I'd probably keep it the full length as it currently exists on here.
Nice piece! You encapsulated what you were searching for (pun intended). I would shorten the song as you wrote; both opinions seem valid, but I would go with 3:40 and one final chord. I really appreciated the experimental value of the song—it was a fun listen.
This has a vastness to the start. The light touch on the cymbals provides an openness - I was really here for the bassoon though - not something you see used often. Some great production.
You definitely captured a searching, seeking vibe. This is very cinematic and epic. I made me see someone in a big castle and opening different doors to different realities, the way it morphs and surprises. It feels like it wants to be longer. Well done.
Is there a shifting time signature or is that just the erratic drums making me think so? Anyway, there is an uneasiness-- a searching, if you will, to this piece which tone paints well what your liner notes describe.
Regarding ending options: 3:33 would work fine. 3:40 is like 3:33 with a fade. The end bit seems to show the search is still ongoing. So I prefer the full ending personally.
