Party Of One!
Liner Notes
i've started writing about 4 new songs that i haven't been able to finish, so today i started from scratch and wrote a simple (sad) party song.
(this is what i did instead of watching the superbowl)
i recorded the whole song, then i had a giant glass of red wine and recorded the guitar solo. so this song is authentic.
Lyrics
i think i think i'm gonna have a drink by myself
i'm getting tipsy but i don’t need nobody else
i’m telling you what i'm gonna do cause you don’t need me and i don’t need you, no!
i think i think i’m gonna have a drink by myself
well, i’m drinking alone
i don't need no more friends today cause i got jim beam and jack is on his way

Rocking, amusing lyrics, really cool vocal effects all throughout, has a drinking alone party air.
The crazy slap-back on the vocals just highlights the manic feeling of the whole thing. This will definitely be my anthem for drinking alone. I feel like it conveys the sort of quiet depression that can accompany that; of course maybe I'm just reading into it because that's my experience when I drink alone.
Rokkin right out of the gate. Love the vocal delivery. Gotta say, I didn't even know it was Superbowl time. I always find out about these things once they're done. Because I am not a sports person. Unless that sport is drinking alone, then I'm all in. Yeah, lovely mosquito guitar solo. A real banger here for sure.
Loving the staccato, stuttering vocal delivery on this one. And the manic, wine-fuelled soloing. Also love how (to my ears) you’ve managed to strike a balance between the pathos of solo drinking and the sense of fun and liberation of it. Not sure I’ve phrased that v well, so will just sign off with some 🤘 and a big well done on this one!
Oh this is a level of idagf punk rawk I can deeply resonate with lol. I'm doing the same on Super Bowl Sunday, minus the vino. This is an absolute tune. Loved it.
hints of the Red Elvises and the Ramones! Awesome!
Is there any other way? 😅
Right on. This is super fun. The energy is infectious and you're sounding carefree here. I kept replaying the "intro" just to figure out what the heck you did. Cool idea to almost "play" the outrageous slap effect like an instrument. I enjoy indulging in a beer-fueled FAWM night from time to time. The little vocal stabs are wonderful; The solo and the circulating vocals towards the end sound awesome. I was reminded of Michel Gondry's short film "Pecan Pie."
