Mandolin song

Liner Notes

#old #mandolin# #folk Well, another weird one for me. In no way do I claim to be able to play the mandolin, but it is a great sounding instrument. This is one which I inherited from a distant relative who died during the First World War, so it's pretty old and very very difficult to tune. Still, just about managed something..

Lyrics

Beneath a twilit sky,
The mandolin sings, Punching through the air 8 tight-wound strings

A melody on the evening breeze,
Through rustling leaves and swaying trees. Telling tales of lives lost Every strum a story holds

Of ancient times, centuries past The music lingers on Flourishing in history Waiting for its time again

This is fab! What a great way to get that wonderful old instrument into fawm! 😁

Oh, new toys! That sounds really nice, how are you mic-ing it? Cute little song - I had a mandolin but I gifted it on as it was impossible to keep it tune! j$

Sounds pretty good for such an old instrument! It's cool that it's been passed down to you, I love old stuff with a history to it like that.
