Longing for Longing

by @rshakesp

Liner Notes

Crazy little piano number today - number 6 in my '12 short nonsense songs about love' efforts - This one is about a young man turning his back on the quick fix and seeking something more substantial from love.

Lyrics

Its a quick hit Endorphins for the modern man But blink and you'll miss it The downer was never in the plan

The box is so big But hollow as a bell The hunger is deep But there’s nothing in the well

So he hunkers down He looks hard at his past He decides to discard the wrong things And face up to his longing for longing

Love the concept. And again your chord progressions. They are complex and intrigue mento keep on listening, as is your melody. And the lyrics too. Hahaha what’s that?!? All of a sudden the style and everything changes drasticaly! But there is a humourous touch to it! Hahaha. Good. Only the drums I would definitly choose another style. Catchy song. #tit4tat

The final stanza came as a complete surprise - brilliant. All this really down and depressiveness and then - is there a light at the end of the tunnel? I enjoyed this. Another very memorable song. :-) #tit4tat

Short and bittersweet track here! I love the simplicity of it all, about some really deep thoughts we've all had. Love how the beat opens up near the end! "Longing for longing" is a great idea to build a song around

Ha, nice surprise there!

This is really good: "The box is so big But hollow as a bell The hunger is deep But there’s nothing in the well"

Well that's different again! And that chorus came out of nowhere. Nice work

This is really beautiful! And short enough to play a couple times. Sounds like it could be in a musical. Really enjoyed this short little gem.
