Skirmish: Write a truly soppy love ... (@ajna1960)Liner Notes
#lyricsonly #skirmish I am looking forward to making this into a real song once I get the lyrics more solid. The backstory is in October I got off the local train and realized I had dropped my phone. Luckily another person was able to contact the conductor and my phone was found. I had to wait two hours for the train to make its way back. That when I realized how much I depend on it.
Lyrics
I'm lost without you Don’t know what to do I'm lost, I’m lost I'm lost without you
As the train speed away and you weren’t with me, I panicked I wired the conductor and was relived you were sighted I took a deep breath as I stood on the landing He informed me the arrival time when we would be reunited
I didn't have any music to listen to, I didn't have anything to read I just sat and watched and waited for you to come back to me Two long hour at the depot, I stayed Two long hours with nothing to do But wait
I'm lost without you Don’t know what to do I'm lost, I’m lost I'm lost without you
You always have the answers to any question I ask You give me directions, keep me on task You read me a who dun it bedtime story And make sure I get up on time in the morning
You’re my coworker, my photographer, my secretary, my videographer. You have everyone's birthdays on hand in your memory You keep me updated on interesting news I don't go anywhere or do anything without consulting you first
I'm lost without you Don’t know what to do I'm lost, I’m lost I'm lost without you
I guess we’re attached at the hip as they say Having you with me makes me feel safe
I'm lost without you Don’t know what to do I'm lost, I’m lost I'm lost without you

I like how you took such an interesting take on the prompt... a little scary how attached we get to these pieces of metal and glass in our pockets! I like how you played it straight when others might have done it as satire... excellent write 👌
Such a detailed story, and so true to life. Nice one!
I love your take on the prompt! A soggy love song to that bit of technology we so rely on! Great idea.
