#7 in my '12 Short Nonsense Songs About Love' album - this one is about be torn from home by that cruel mistress that is work. Oh and I had to finish this tonight - it really wouldn’t have worked if I’d published it on a Friday!

Wonderful guitar on this, could easily imagine this as heavy rock song - equally it works very well as it is.....

And I echo the sentiments ....IF ONLY it were a Friday !

First verse made me think about work! Another pointless meeting, they like to keep me guessing. Nice melody. I take the point previously about shortening one thing, but I really like Oh girl, I hope you're hoping. Thought that was a good lyric. #tit4tat

#tit4tat - good fun! I've just read and listened to several of your songs to choose where to respond and picked this one with its strong imagery. I travelled a lot in my work and can relate ‐ another hotel lobby check in - liked the pained way you sang that too ! No sinking feelings no my way or the highway - good stuff, (and time to leave that job?) - love what this song expresses so clearly. My other pick was Long Dstance Roundabout - again for its so clear imagery, especially that fear of being flung off as it spins. Thanks for reading and commenting on my "You Got Here" lyrics - really nice you appreciated the challenge and my approach to it - no advice giver me! Go well #tit4tat

Really solid work here! "bruising flight" and "hollow dollar" are both really great imagery!

When I'm re-visiting my FAWM songs and fleshing them out, I always look for opportunities to 'trim the fat' on lyrics where I could perhaps convey the same point, but with fewer words. At least with me, I've noticed a trend that I use a ton of words when I first write a song, but as I perform it live / record it for release, I tend to find a lot of superfluous words that can be removed.

With that in mind, I think you could trim the last line of the chorus a bit. Maybe it could be just, "(Oh girl) Are you wishing, it was Friday, too?"

Just a thought :-) I think this song has great potential, but you'll want to make sure that line in particular is nice and tight. Looking forward to listening to more!
