I'm a writer of science fiction, fantasy, and songs as well as a musician. I love cats and chocolate, and have a nice collection of acoustic instruments. My pronouns are zie/zir or she/her.
I can also be found as Wyld_Dandelyon on DreamWidth and Patreon. You can find a lot of my song lyrics there, and other creative stuff too. The song lyrics on Patreon are public, but there's more there too!
I give thanks to FAWM for my growing skills at recording. But I've had a lot of fun experimenting with Garage Band to make a song at least marginally presentable in a hurry, while it's still new and strange-to-me.
I'm so very glad to be here!

FAWM History: I really should've added my total every year. But I didn't, so most of the years' totals are my best guess. I know I have (somewhere) the FAWM archive of songs and comments for at least some of these years; if I find those I will update the numbers.
2016 2 or 3
2017 3 or 4
2018 5 or 6
2019 7 or 8
2020 15 songs
2021 It's been so great everybody. 32 songs, and a bunch of song fragments besides. And I listened to so many songs too. SO MUCH MUSIC! Thanks, everybody!!!
2022 43 songs. I'm stunned! It's been so much fun.
2023 49 songs. And I still haven't written "I am the Anonymous Kracken". But seven 7s of songs shall have to be enough.
May 2023: Covid, followed by ongoing Long Covid. Which thoroughly messed up the 2023 50/90 3. Better than zero, though!
2024: 38. I was ok with the thought that I might not make 14, due to the long covid, so this was a surprise.
2024 50/90: 3 I think
2025: 20
In light of the stupid long covid, this is the FAWM album cover I made for 2024:

Another one I'd missed. No, not doing #tit4tat--your comment son my mooney noctorunes (thank you) prodded me to come in and listen. life has been a little...full...?.
For No Arguing I used mostly virtual instruments for this one, except my vocals and guitar. :)
Very kind of you to check out "Fairy Tales" and "Pat Mahomes' Lament". Thanks for that and your kind comments. That last one might be a little more entertaining if you were a football fan and/or familiar with the great song about Irish immigrants I stole it from, which is called "Mick Ryan's Lament" by Tim O'Brien, itself possibly borrowing heavily from "Arthur McBride".
Still hoping for my card. I'll check back in on Wednesday.
Oh, I owe you a thanks ! I disconvered the word filk in your hashtags, on a previous FAWM. And this year I did one ! (its' called "Stolen goods" and it puts into a song a story coming from a fanfic on "the untamed", a chinese tv series.)
Thanks a lot for your comments! Yes, I was doing tit4tat the lsat days!
Thank you so much for your kind comment on "Who We've Been"! I so appreciate your take on it. We have to hope for change, you know?
Hi, Deirdre, and thank you. I'll admit that my part in Edwin's collaboration was minimal: mostly, I was in the room where it happened! Still, five is my personal best. No demos to listen too, though; February was too hectic for that. I'll try and croak some of them in the next few circles, though.
(Now, I'll begin listening to other people's song...)
I just need to find a bunch of other thieves for the Steal the Alphabet band, haha.
Thanks for your comments on my Seahorse song and thanks for the challenge/card
Deirdre, again great prompt. On "Singers in the Fade" its definitely not old age; kinda sad, but it was reminding me of a profoundly sad Jason Isbell song (called Elephant I think) and I borrowed elements of that story.
I followed you on bluesky (I'm JennGale there--been signed up a while, but mostly not there. Hoping to wade into the fray next month).
I feel confident in the solitary crone's thicket-growing skills. XD No clowns shall pass!
Thank you for your kind comments on "Angeleno Traffic"! I'm glad you never have to face it :D
Will look at more of your songs later. I am still feeling overwhelemed; jist fopund my way to skirmishes now!
I set Ghost Orchid as public.
Thank you for your comment on " About Figs" (your Time for a Break skirmish) - I'm happy you thought it was fun 😀 it is the most fun one of my fawmling few ‐ I thank you for the prompt! And someone has asked to write a tune for my words so what an encouraging start for me, arising from that skirmish. I've been reading and hearing your work now, love the realness, richness and depth. And courage. Damn covid. Wishing you well xx
Hey! I'm an SFF writer too. :) Here from your comment on Dandelion--yes! Wild joy is very important right now. <3
It is so adorable to watch the birds blow themselves up into tiny balloons.
And I am just going to leave this comment here without context to baffle and intrigue your other commenters.
Hi, thanks for the comment on Candy for Cats haha! They are the best :) and yeah of course, I had a lot of fun with it! 🧡
Hi Deirdre, thanks for commenting on Snowman Action. It was a bit of a labour to get it all done (pun not intended, but I'll roll with it), and the whole thing became quite conceptually contrived. So the "cold promises" line was SUPPOSED to reflect firm commitments from management, but also since they're all snowmen still striking in July, it's the absolute best thing they can think of. Like I say - contrived. This is one of those songs you work on for ages and then have to not listen to for a while to enable you to have any kind of perspective about it. Thanks again for your thoughts.
Thank you so much for your kind comment on "Bardic Doubt"! Much appreciated. :)
Sorry...I was very tired and forgot to publish my video properly. It should be visible now.
Thank you very much for your kind words. I am glad you like Charcoal Dreams.
Well I tried it using Flickr and all it does is insert the address. Oh well no biggie, thanks again for the help
Thank you for your kind comments on "Water Finds a Way"! When I record it for an album, I think I'm going to put some kind of water sound in the background.
Hi Deirdre, check out Charcoal Dreams, the music I have so far, I was up putting all the pieces together last night. So 17 hours of editing. Let me know what you think so far.
May I ask how you are able to post pictures here?
Thanks
Thanks for the Pathfinders oracle card! I love seahorses!
Hi Dierdre! Thank you for the encouragement -- I think I might actually dip my toe in to posting songs with some recorded improv after all.
Thank you for your kind comments on "Aftercare." You nailed it - it's about a really raw experience, and I intended the ambiguity with that line.
Hey thanks for your comments... I mean we are just talking stage names, but, my current short list revolves around the idea of using Lark in there somehow.
Lark the Bard Wild Lark Robyn Lark (playing off of the hat)
Thank you for your kind comments on "The Place Where I Begin" and "Solidarity"! I'm going to pick your brain in chat at some point :)
Hi, D! The audio is up for Winter Crows!
Thank you for your kind comment on "Now's The Time"! From you, it means a lot :)
Hi Deirdrelyon! Wishing you a wonderful FAWM, long-covid be danged!
Once more into the breach! Y'all have a bunch of fun now. JW
Happy to see you here! Expecting some autoharp goodness this FAWM, and I might try it too!
Deirdre, I was so sorry to hear about the recent loss and struggles. Hope your FAWM is superbly happy.
Heya Deirdre! Sending you so much love with all you’ve got going on. I’m so sorry for your loss.
Good to have you back Deirdre! Have a great FAWM!
Thanks so much for taking a listen to Garden of Souls. I really appreciate your comments and reference to Lois McMaster Bujold's five gods. I can relate wholeheartedly to that interpretation!
