A Deus, que me tem por bem esperar
Liner Notes
@beto says: @donna sent me this beautiful postcard back in 2023 (!) for the #PostcardChallenge:

I decided to write something in the style of medieval Portuguese songs. I played my baritone #uke to my #Porta02 #4track #cassette recorder, recording 3 tracks, and sang these lyrics in a somewhat-archaic Portuguese style.
Donna sez: Oh, how lovely! The lyric, the music, and the performance. Thanks, Beto. (-:
Lyrics
Esperas por mim, ai Deus, como será? No espelho te vês, mas só por mirar, Pois um dia hei-de chegar.
E quando for tempo, e dia chegar, No espelho não verás teu próprio olhar, Mas lume de meu amar.

Translation:
You wait for me, oh God, how will it be? In the mirror, you see yourself, but lost in gazing, For one day, I shall arrive.
And when the time comes, and the day arrives, In the mirror, you will not see your own gaze, But the flame of my love.

Beautiful, just plain beautiful! Very nice that you didn't forget the postcard and now recorded the tune
Just lovely! It's touching think how one person can inspire another with a word, or melody, or in this case, with a card, and see how that plays out only much later, or sometimes never, but yet we can touch each others lives in small ways.
Não esperava uma canção portuguesa! Just wish it was a bit longer cause the vibe is great
Beautiful melody and lyrics. The inspiration from the postcard is evident.
@coolparadiso me too, my friend. Me too. 😄
What I nice compact song! A little to a lot. Funny how I sort of forget that you are a native Portuguese speaker!
how cool!! Also wanted to say that the postcard looks so great too
What a charming take on the postcard, beto. So pretty. (-: I love the poetic lyrical concept.
