Elk Pebblesnail

Liner Notes

I was waiting until I could play this better and wanted to add a guitar track, but then I figured I really just have to get it out there and move on.

The A-part comes from playing at a farmers market, and the B-part is new. The name comes from a guide to amphibians and reptiles that I edited one time. It is a small freshwater snail that lives in the Elk River in Missouri (true story). The photo is of a different type of pebble snail.

The melody is fast for a snail, but twirling just like one. It is shiny with a bit of irony that evoques a sunny moment in a rainy afternoon.

This is really nice. It reminds me of a Swedish dance song I once heard. I would really like to know how it sounds with guitar, but you’re right it sounds great on its own
