More! (moremoreMORE!!!)

Liner Notes

@frontrowotago like me finds himself semi-retired in what has become a regional growth center exploding at the seams and wiping out the reasons people are moving in.... A worrisome question posed in the rush for "progress" in development.

And another question: is it "More" or "Maw" in the end? #cabaret #overpopulation #overdevelopment #guywithpiano #musichall

MORE! Lyrics Copyright © 2025 Andrew Male Music Copyright © 2025 TJ Fatchen All Rights Reserved APRA-AMCOS

I got out early Saturday Went in to the store Banged in to a line-up Right back out the door When I finally reached the counter It was half-past four Asked the owner what he wanted He laughed and answered "MORE!"

CHORUS Everybody needs a job We’ve all got mouths to feed But in this town progress Starts to feel like greed And I understand development Means we can’t get back to before But do we see what’s coming up Tucked in behind our "MORE!"

Tired, I headed for the beach Couldn’t find a park Got stuck in the traffic Got home after dark Saw lots of cabanas Blocking up the shore Line-ups just like Leningrad Waiting there for "MORE!"

[CHORUS]

I went up to the council to talk to our Mayor Would he even see me? Did he even care? Went into his parlour Was early last fall I checked the well-framed photographs Lined along the wall I could sense a certain pattern among those Markers of achievement Our town’s first traffic-light a triumph Where I preferred bereavement Then his Worship walked out Showed me through his door And on his desk a single sign; Four letters spelling "MORE!!!"

[CHORUS]

Entertaining but also telling a necessary truth in a considerably more restrained way than I'd put it!

This is was very enjoyable. I love the playfulness on such a serious theme. Nicely done.

The world we live in. Sadly. More pavement, more building. Skyward cubicles eating up every inch of ground. Captured masterfully in song; just wish it wasn't quite so completely, accurately true.

I'm picturing this being sung on a vaudeville stage. Fun, fun, fun! Great collaboration! ❤️
