Carry us a River

Liner Notes
This one's pretty personal. It's mostly about my sister. I'm still in the beginning stages of learning to write lyrics and it felt like I chose a more serious topic than usual here. For some reason I also struggled to get a good take and I wish my voice sounded a little better. #acousticguitar #fingerpicking
Lyrics
I wish I could carry us a river That would wash you up on the shore Maybe next year we'll find ourselves a place And make us closer like before
Have you ever seen such a forest The birds on the rocks in the hills We can run around and hide in the woods The way we used to do when we were kids
45 came down Rearranged my life Told me you were perfect Stopped me getting high
55 can wait Til we're around that long I'll save you jars of spices And silly looking bones
Your body is constantly changing I hope it doesn't make you change your mind If the river comes and washes us away We'll swim back upstream in time
A nice story. Seems like an important relationship. I came here for the fingerstyle hashtag. I was not disappointed...Well played.
