Thanks for dropping by to listen to "Only Human". I'll revisit the mix to adjust the level of the guitar tracks in the mix, although I won't bother updating it here. Thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks for the comment on my latest collab with Tammy, 'Coming In For a Landing'!
I like that approach, sounds like a good way to capture a moment very purely. Captured a good one there. And I think we all know that feeling of things sometimes working out better than others, no matter the approach!
Good ear sir. .it was a pick..I needed to get a clear tone from the strings on my Taylor. Thx for the nice comment...visiting your stuff soon. So many great songs this FAWM
I’m all for it. Not turning down chips n’ chattin’.
Sure!! Your choice 🙏🙏thanks friend!
Thanks for the kind comments on my tunes!!! I really do appreciate it!! I live in Medina County, which is about 30 min south of Cleveland.
Thanks, Rich! Truly beautiful--you were on my list to return a comment, so appreciated! Stunning song in every way--lyrics, vocals, guitar. Well done!
i really enjoyed the three songs i commented on, and thank you for your detailed and thoughtful comments on mine. we should collab next time around. your guitar pieces are inspiring.
Howdy Rich!!! I loved the three songs I listened to!!! Thanks for reaching out!! If ya get a chance, check out "Walk Beside Me", "I Can't Feel Nothin", or maybe "She's Crazy" if you like country..
since i did two of your collabs with liz, why dont you substitute hwe collab with em, rain of the sea, for texas snow...or, if you want to do all four, i will add your collab with wobbie to the three i have already finished.
Heyyyy richaaaay, I will comment on a couple including the 1 you mentioned and if you can comment on She Knew and Trippin' that would be cool. Thaaaanks!
Awww. Thank you. I got as far as a title for an eventualthird song in our Algorithm, Bot, sequence with @davidtaro It’s called I AM AI which is a #palindrome I know it needs to have the line “I can’t admit it if I’m wrong” If you have any guitar tracks hanging around ever. ai’d love to channel @serene and @fearlessflight2014 and try writing a lyric on top of one.
in up for a tit for tat. my three are open windows, texas snow, and the last valley,
im up for a tit for tat my three are open windows, texas snow, the last valley
What a gorgeous collaboration. Thanks for the suggestion. You’ve already listened to a ton of my stuff. Thank you.
Just commented. Tremendous work with Liz, which it always is.
Sorry to hear that things have been tough for you, but you've done some wonderful stuff this FAWM.
Thanks for the heads up on that recent collab! Another gem for the month 👌 The Paul_o_fanclub is a good friend who wanted to follow along this year 😂
Thank you so much, Rich! I must admit that I have absolutely no idea about music theory. I just play what I hear and feel. I cannot even read sheet music or explain the differences between the 7th chords :O So happy you enjoyed "Caoineag", I will publish this one asap.
Hey Rich, I was hoping to work on 'Spellbound' but can't access the music. Will you please send it to my email? [email protected]
Thanks for listening C'est la vie. I've been offline for 10 days and it's really nice to log in and see your kind comment.
Hey, Richaaaay, why is most of your stuff greyed out?
Thanks for the listen and kind words. Much appreciated.
Hey Rich - It was a pleasure listening to your songs, and of course I meant every word. I can already feel myself missing FAWM, despite my need to get back to "real life". Been an honor to make music alongside brilliant musicians such as yourself. Cheers for an amazing month!
Hey Rich, you already listened to many of my songs. Unfortunately some are still private cause I'm waiting for stems. Hope I get some in the next days... maybe Caioneag is worth a listen as its super different, but I'm working on a mastering to publish.
Cool. I will work on it :)
Hey there Rich! Thanks for all your kind comments and beautiful guitar playing. I finished the demo for Three Words and now I suddenly realise I am totally empty and happy. FAWM over for me and I can get back to listening before it all disappears.
Hey Rich, thanks soooo much for taking a listen to Undercover. It was one of those last day writes, and I'm always so glad when I let the muses possess my psyche one more time! Those one-takes are very liberating and powerful sometimes! Now on to lots of listening. You've been such a great support and I so appreciate all the times you stopped by my virtual front porch. You're terrific!
I posted my collab with David but don't get excited, he didn't send me any guitar this year, so it's me and Tan and BIAB.
Ooh thanks for sharing that tuning, will have to try it! And I did a little foray into John Leventhal - beautiful stuff!
Wow, thanks! Your comment means a lot to me, Rich! You're catching up on FAWM. Only 3 songs to go! 🏁
Ahhh I would be delighted to play fiddle for you one day! Let’s make it happen!
As always, your comments are such a gift and comfort in this creative process (which for me still holds plenty of moments of self doubt). You are a great support for so many on this site @richaaaay - thanks for everything!! This was a very selfish FAWM for me, but now I'm in listening mode and can't wait to catch up on yours. Cheers!
Those Icy Lakes are in Norway! Except now, it's been a crappy winter, so we have no snow where I live right now.
Thank you for you generous and thoughtful comments on 'I am a Survivor". I love the Bruce made the song feel uplifting rather than sad. I'm so glad you liked it!
I'm so happy you liked the lyrics and driving music in my collab with Jon, @theicylakes. He is a joy to work with and each song is unique :)
It's a bit up in the air if I'm going to do many more. I have several that are mostly done from the days leading up to the start of FAWM - I might just go ahead and wipe their bums tomorrow, or else they are going to get forgotten.
Thanks again for all your positivity! Sorry I haven't had a chance to do any collaborations or anything - next time!
Noob question... many of your songs are grey and can't be clicked now... what does that mean? Is that when you choose "restricted" in the edit song form? Asking for a friend :-p
Aww thanks so much! I'm loving what I've heard from you this year too. Looking forward to March when I can really listen to what everyone came up with this year. If only you, me and Liz could jam in person one day, hey?!
Ha ha, thanks! I like parts of it, but also now hate passages of the writing which seem wrong - I guess I uploaded it before it was baked... when I get some time I am hoping to improve it (mainly the choices in the opening few seconds - I think I can fix it). As for the guitar playing - this was about ten takes spliced together, or else it wouldn't have made as much sense as it does. I will try to give yours a listen soon.
@richaaaay … Was wondering how you record your acoustic… I just love the sound you get!
Oh man. I'm done with #13 but it is a beast to perform. I don't know why I do this to myself! I have plenty of time carved out this week to cross the finish line, but I've never been this mentally spent at the end of FAWM. I have no idea what #14 will be, but that is always what drives the first 13 songs... I want to hear what the last one sounds like! Thanks for checking in. I can't overstate how much I appreciate your amazing comments and continuous support of my music. This is an absolute brutal month made less so by good friends! Cheers!
I just emailed you the edit I sang to with the extra chorus. If you play exactly like that but keep the tempo at 100bpm that would be lovely.
Exactly the same or you could add a repeat of the final section if you want. Like a double chorus into the finish.
Hi Thank you so much for commenting and liking the lyrics/song-Indulge me, Baby. Sincerely Schantell--Redlady
Hi Thank you so much for commenting and liking the lyrics/song-Done. Sincerely Schantell--Redlady
Hey Rich I had a go at recording this vocal tonight and realised that it's bit too fast to sing. How hard would it be to record it again to a slower tempo, say 100bpm?
Ayyy, I’ve been jammin to that piece. I’ve got some ideas just haven’t executed them…
I’ll let you know, at this stage I’m just humming things into my phone while I’m at work.
Thanks for listening @richaaaay and asking about my locked songs! Really enjoyed hearing your thoughts and songs this year (and last year). This year was so hectic at work that I decided to post all the songs that were basically done but I didn't have time to write up the lyrics or make a demo. Hoped to get more done, but that didn't happen. In part, it was a good reason - got to play out for International Women's Day with a bunch of cool folks from Madison (yea!) and spent time practicing for that. Hoping next year things are so hectic and have started counting down the days until Feb. 2026 already! Have a good "between-FAWMs" and see you next year!
