Wield words thoughtfully. They have power.

You Cast a Spell @cluebird66 Feb 18 FAWM 2025
After I heard it I kinda spun out, Like a rogue asteroid Like a blacked out drunk
I thought it meant nothing But I moved differently I’d pretend it was nothing But it changed how I see
You cast a spell That you tried to hide My ears heard the words My heart caught the vibe You cast a spell and it Changed me inside
After I heard it My actions were new Tried on some costumes Sang different tunes
I wish I were still As Mindlessly stoned Revolving around you The same orbital zone
But.., I can’t unhear the meaning behind The veil of smiles, the old true and tried You sent out a code that I figured out And I’m faced with decisions I’m anxious about
You whispered it quietly But I picked it up On my sensitive radar for Critical stuff
You cast a spell That you tried to hide My ears heard the words My heart caught the vibe You cast a spell and it Changed me inside
I don’t want to believe it
You cast a spell and it changed me inside
I can definitely hear those lines fall into rhythms as I read them. For me it’s a song about the way we (or at least I) react so strongly to tone of voice in a lover, and get spun up and feeling rejected by a tone that feels negative even if the words on there own are neutral.
