a quiet house is a quiet mind
Liner Notes
I originally wrote this to a drum machine loop, meaning to replace it with a proper drumbeat but I couldn't find anything that would work with the syncopated riffs, so drum machine it is.
Some generic placeholder lyrics in the second half that I'll come back and replace at a later date.
Lyrics
a quiet house is a quiet mind you're taciturn a tilted glass may never spill your faux concern
we've danced this dance a thousand times before oh light, so bright your flicker we abhor
a silent step, a shift in weight my furtive frame a sunken heart and wounded pride i will retain
we've danced this dance a thousand times before tried to watch but the images distort
if only the both of us were free (incoherent mumbling) if only the both of us were free
Comments
Even with the drum machine, this is a vibe! I love the resignation in your voice, and the lyrics paint a beautiful picture of existential angst! (I dig the incoherent mumbling -- you should leave it in!)
I like the drum machine / fuzz-rock combo very much! The guitar being a wash of noise and the bass driving the song works well and you've nailed the smoky noir atmosphere again, really suits your voice.
