For The Sake Of A Song

Liner Notes
I've been fascinated with the idea that music is biologically wired in humans, ever since I read The Singing Neanderthals by Steven Mithen. In academic circles, there are so many gatekeepers, each waiting to exclude certain music for their own narrow reasons: it breaks The Rules, or it's not sophisticated enough, or it didn't take years to write and must therefore be void of merit. I reject them all. Music is our birthright and all we have to do to honor the ancestors who gave it to us is make any and every joyful noise for as long as we can.
Lyrics
This is a song For the sake of a song It came out pretty easy It didn’t take long Only a song That I wanted to sing No matter what, that’s A glorious thing
Music Woven in our DNA To make music You just have to want to play
A song That you keep inside It burns like a fire Too blazing to hide Some cut you down Make you think that you’re wrong But a song is a song Is a song is a song
Music Grabs hold and won’t let go To love music Is to love what you don’t know

What a beautiful melody! Loved the gentle background harmonies too - they add cool texture. A great song for the love of music - it belongs to all of us, and I'm glad you widen the circle and invite more people to come in and enjoy it.
I love this. One of the things that makes me the most angry is when someone tells someone they can’t sing. How dare they ruin that joy for someone.
You tell 'em. Crashing the gatekeepers' party and making a muck of it all in the most beautiful manner possible. Lovely melody and vocal and, of course, the lyric hits it just right. I'm loving the dual melodies.
