Here for the songwriting. My Youtube channel link appears here. Optimistically, songs I write and like get posted here. There's Instagram also but I try not to be too consistent with social media.

Gear: -acoustic upright Everett piano (which hurts my ears) -Yamaha FG-461S acoustic guitar (it's pretty and old) -Novation Launchkey 25 -Garageband and LiveLoops for kicks in my iPad, mostly, also on the Mac -maracas, around here somewhere, and maybe a nose flute as well

Thank you for all the awesome comments! This FAWM was a fun self-therapy session😬 I am going to check out some more of your music. I am glad you enjoyed some of my more eccentric musical adventures!!

I'm enjoying an early foray into Imogen's and Frou Frou's stuff. Small world: Guy Sigsworth is the other half of FF -- he also co-produced Alison Moyet's "The Minutes" (e.g. "When I Was Your Girl") and "Other" (e.g. "The Rarest Birds") that I seem to play with alarming regularity. They're wonderfully epic.

A collab in '26 sounds like a marvellous idea: lyrics + melody sounds like a start; sour or sweet will be fine -- whatever we're feeling next year! πŸ™‚

Still around! Thanks so much for the listen and the kind words!

Thank you for the binge listen! I shall look to reciprocate before FAWM is out; I've really enjoyed listening to the set so far.

(on "Told You") There's an Aussie YouTuber, Keppie Coutts, who posts about songwriting (as a pre-cursor to paid-for courses). She offered up some novel chord progressions, so I dusted down some sus4's (or whatever this one was!) which led to a different songwriting place. I should put that in the Liner Notes before I Archive, so it's not lost.

(on "I Thought I Could Fly") The FAWM dilemma: you're allowed to just get things done ... when you know you should do one more iteration with better transitions. πŸ™‚

(on "Mockingdude") Was it just me who'd never heard of the djembe!? Ah well, I've caught up now. I liked the title too: the song was the runt of the litter and it'll probably end up as the name of the "album" that follows!

(on "Working For Americans") No substitute for putting in the hours with the production unfortunately: I wish something came naturally!

(on "Sharp Like Lemon") I need to work out what this one's about and prune anything that doesn't fit. Might end up as 3 songs!

Hey thanks for the encouraging comment on "Reckon." I had alot of fun dipping my toes into producing a rap beat, and Cody knocked it out of the park! Glad you enjoyed!

OK! I have some catching up to do on your songs, dear friend. (you could have been the person I was thinking of in A Tribute, to be fair, but it wasn't specifically you I had in mind when writing. Massive respect for you and your musical genius.)

Thanks for the comment on our collab! Yes, this one was a challenge for my voice, but it was very cool to be pushed out of my comfort zone and embody what I've been calling my "Theatre voice."

Since N squared = sum of 1 to N of (2N-1), (I don't know how to write mathematical notation in this message box) I'm confident of 1+3+5+7+9+11+13=49

LOL

Thanks so much, my friend, for your kind wishes.

I can assure you that my dancing was barely tolerable. I had three different partners at the dance and all of them were very kind to two-left-footed me. I genuinely stepped on my own foot and tripped myself at one point.

Thank you for the kind words about my song Grace. I appreciate them.

Hi, Miga, I'm so glad to see you back here, and thank you for your comments on @gwynjones' and my collab, "Love Isn't Any Fun." When I wrote the lyric, I knew I wanted to ask him to bring it to the table, and he certainly served up a meal! I'm glad you liked it, and it's really fun to hear the particulars of what grabbed you. Thanks!

Thanks for the comments (on See You Some); corralling synth sounds is songwriting for me! More fun than melodies, chords, lyrics, meaning etc. -- I think I've spotted a problem!

I'd read the following post, if that was the one, ty -- the forum's production/technique posts are wonderfully supportive. https://write.fawm.org/forums/3225

You wear, 6.5? Me too. Any shoes you are especially yearning for? Your grain elevators got me thinking that in NYC water towers are somehow similar. Glad you are here.

Thanks for your thoughtful comments in the Deconstruction thread! Appreciated!

A belated hello! πŸ‘‹ Thanks for the comment (on Out of Time) -- I do like a sour lyric!

Thanks so much for your comment on β€œIf Wishes Were Poolboys.” I was pretty happy when the title occured to me, so I’m glad someone else liked it. πŸ™‚

I was a math major before changing direction so you might say I have an interest in numbers.
