Lyrics
Something tells me, I’m not your only one Something tells me, you’re just having fun All I can say, is that two play, better than one Come on over, I know a good game do you remember Simon Says? it’s when you listen to everything I say…..hey hey hey
Simon says come here Simon says hold my hand Simon says walk away…ay…hey hey hey Simon says touch the ground Simon says turn around, Kiss me. Simon didn’t say…..hey hey hey hey… Simon didn’t say hey hey hey Simon Simon
Saturday you’re too busy to come ‘round Sunday morning, nowhere to be found Tired of hide and seek, playing a new game now hey hey hey
Simon says come here Simon says hold my hand Simon says walk away…ay…hey hey hey Simon says touch the ground …Simon says turn around, Kiss me…..Simon didn’t say…..hey hey hey hey……Simon Simon… Simon says come here Simon says hold my hand Simon says walk away…ay…hey hey hey Simon says touch the ground …Simon says turn around, Kiss me…..Simon didn’t say…..hey hey hey find another game to play… hey hey hey hey Simon

I love how the situation turns from played to player at the third line : "All I can say, is that two play, better than one " is just so empowering. Had to look up what simon says is. As I suspected, it translate to french with "Jacques a dit".
I like this. The rhythm is funky along with the hey heys, and I love how the lyrics work the game. I never could get it straight. And how you work that into relationship is beilliant.
I like this kiss-off song. I'm not sure the lyric fully educates listeners who never played Simon Says, but for those that have, it reminds them adequately. The music is good, too; I had a wild thought that a reggae style (which is not that far from what you're doing now) might suit the playfulness of the lyric and give you more freedom to emphasize key words. Just a thought.
