Bits and Pieces
Skirmish: Bits And Pieces (@lyricslinger)Liner Notes
#acousticrock #acousticonetake Probably closer to Night Ranger in style, but like the song says, I’ll give you what I got.
Lyrics
I was supposed to be leaving On the 6:34 The cupboard looks like I don’t live here anymore But of course I can hold out Just a few more days It won’t cost a dime To stay in the same old place
Let yourself in If you want to see my plight And if it gets dark Then I will turn on a light If I’m still sitting here It shows that I’ve lost my touch I’ll give you what I got As long as you don’t expect much
I’ve only got bits and pieces Only got bits and pieces
What’s become of the world If the trains can’t get themselves running I had big dreams It seems like they came up with nothing If there is another way Somebody say what it’s worth Otherwise I’m waiting here At the ends of the Earth
Let yourself in If you want to see my plight And if it gets dark Then I will turn on a light If I’m still sitting here It shows that I’ve lost my touch I’ll give you what I got As long as you don’t expect much
I’ve only got bits and pieces Only got bits and pieces I’ve only got bits and pieces Only got bits and pieces

This paints a really compelling picture and I love the guitar riff. Those first few lines do a great job setting the scene and drawing you in.
Cool guitar riff right off. Interesting lyrics. Catchy chorus. Toe tapping for sure. Cheers, Smudge
I really like the lines 'I had big dreams It seems like they came up with nothing' good write!
Great twangy guitar sound on this and it's a very fine lyric. It sounds like one you should keep working on and it will only fit together better the more you play it. Excellent skirmish 👌
Oh wow… this is really poignant and powerful in the depth of emotion and hardship you convey. Your wonderfully paced aggressive strum riff and melodic nuances work really well to deliver the message.
The music and vocals really evoke the words expressed in the lyric. Very cool song.
Nice lyrics and I agree with @rowleyjohnuk that the acoustic guitar sound is really nice. Great storytelling
Nice, love the twangy acoustic sound. Yeah can see this one in the wilderness setting!
A very lonely lyric and the sparse guitar part brings me to that solitude.
