My Time

Skirmish: my days with ___ (@fairplay)Liner Notes
#lyricsonly #skirmish My day with myself from morning to bedtime. I started these lyrics before, but working on the music now. So it's not technically a new fresh skirmish song, but thought I'd share the lyrics anyhow to hopefully inspire someone. I will upload music as soon as I get the vocals sung on the track.
Lyrics
My time, alone time No one to bother me Gonna honor me with my time Alone time Roll in the moments
I love walking shaded trails with my hair in pigtails Sunshine drying my painted toenails Picking wild flowers from a sidewalk crack On my way back home I stop to pet a gray cat Wash my dirty dishes in a pan on my porch Or take a nap in my car where it’s nice and warm cuz
My time, alone time No one to bother me Gonna honor me with my time, alone time Roll in the moments
Wear old pajamas with my mismatched socks
Gonna write some tunes on my heavy duty laptop
Getting pulled away, start to shop on-line
Adding stuff to my cart, junk I know I won’t buy cuz
My time, alone time No one to bother me Gonna honor me with my time, alone time Roll in the moments
I love munching chips and salsa with a chunk of sharp cheese Watching Disney shows on my niece’s TV cuz my My day is almost over it’s 3 AM Play audio books for my sleepy drift to dream land And snuggling my well loved favorite elephant
My time, alone time No one to bother me Gonna honor me with my time, alone time Roll in the moments
My time, alone time No one to bother me Gonna honor me with my time, alone time Roll in the moments I said roll in the moments of my time

...that is a looong day - nice pictures painted with words - looking forward to the melody to go with this...
This is a lot of little scenes, all making the same point about putting yourself first. I like the stop-and-start feeling this gives.
I love the thought of you snuggling with your stuffed elephant. Nice idea to have time with yourself-so many people are occupied with their phone these days that they've never learned to be with themselves.
I like the honesty in this. Alone time is a precious thing. I found these words quite soothing. 😀
