12. The Faces I've Seen
Liner Notes
As this FAWM is growing closer to the end, and as I'm getting closer to the final song in a freaking trilogy, I've been wondering how to "wrap it up", and for my sensibilities it makes the most perfect sense to bring it back to the beginning.
This is a little bit more of a positive track (while still being sad because I love alienating listeners) that is the inverse/Sister Song to a song from Memory Ln. called "Spaces Between", which itself is a song about memories and the fear of losing them. This one is more basking in the fact that you had good memories to lose in the first place.

Lyrics
Verse 1: I am bound To fragile minds.
Light Dancing aloft on the dashboard, Skipping along like a record, To another life.
Why Are we destined to Repeat ourselves? (Repeat ourselves)
Well-worn Paths lead back to the choices That started all the voices, As far as I can tell.
All of the photographs.
Verse 2: In the game of love, I play for keeps, But only when It's you and me
Cuz we're so much Stronger together, Sharing life like a Worn-out sweater.
No, I don't think I'll get better, But I hope that I'll get better This time.
Maybe I'll get it right.
All of the photographs. I'll get it right.
Verse 3: All of the photographs That I took with you, And all of the places That you lead me to,
They were all in the moment. All in the moment.
All of the things that we put In that Christmas box, That five years from now We will open up,
They were all in the moment. All in the moment.
No, I don't think I'll remember, But I hope that I'll remember You and me, And all The Faces I've Seen.

i like the way the rhythms move us forward while you are looking backward. it creates a tension between memory and moving forward. sometimes i find that the most painful memories are the most precious,,,maybe because they are the hardest to let go.
I really like your voice and the emotion behind it. This has a really nice vibe and sound to it. The tone of intro beat made me think of the intro to "In The Air Tonight" by Phil Collins at first and I was pleasantly surprised with the direction you took it. The lyrics and storytelling is great. I really like the line "Sharing life like a Worn-out sweater." Really great stuff here!
Really nice - this might be my most favorite track of your cycle. It seems like something that would work in sync. It has the vibe of something I might be listening to on a long road trip on a desolate highway at 2 am. I second what others have said about the sparseness but the layers create some nice texture. Dreamy. #tit4tat
I know you always knock it out of the park, really liking those minimalist drums, it's moody but it's also dancable. "memories and the fear of losing them" as you put it, really shines through here as well, particularly the last lines. Lots of lovely vocal effects and I like how the ending takes away the drums and lets the rest continue a bit. #tit4tat
The intro sets up a nice trance-like feeling. Then the lyrics come in with such lovely layers and harmonies. This does really have a nice indie feel to it. I could see it played along with Fleet Foxes. The lyrics are evocative, and the production has so many layers that work well together. #tit4tat
There's a heavenly lightness to this. Really enjoyed the listen. And the lyrics. Nice harmonies and stripped back production. Lots of reflecting in your songs. Self hope.
This is so beautiful and nostalgic. Maybe some of my favorite lyrics this month here, "I am bound / To fragile minds" and "Sharing life like a / Worn-out sweater" stood out to me the most! I love the rhythmic textures too, bouncy! This is a great song
i like this upbeat feel. i wanna say that this song reminds me of something, but i'm not sure what it is. maybe it's not another piece of music. maybe your song reminds me of a summer vacation from long ago.
also, i'm starting to sense how your tracks hold together and inform each other - it's clear that you're thinking of the bigger picture, the narrative, the world-making (rather than just isolated songs). you're on a roll!!
Love how your vocals fall in. Together with the Synth. I would make the first instrumental part, the intro, a bit shorter. Love how the rythm fits the music. You sing well. This has got a certain ‘sound’ to it. Love how the rythm changes later in the song. Good production. This reminds me of U2 a bit. #tit4tat
