Song 6! I started writing this day one of FAWM and it had a completely different chorus (same chord progression) and concept; it was about a relationship with someone where you both have no impulse control. Fun idea, but I got so stuck because I was writing and producing the arrangement and suddenly the song FELT so different than the original idea. So I called my friend, Alex, and she gave it a listen and almost immediately sang "cuz I'm terrified" and BAM! We had a hook! But no idea what the song was still really about. So, today I sat down and thought what am I afraid of (not hard in our current times) and just wrote the lyrics. I like the idea that we can be so scared of everything happening around us, to us, and even self medicating or trying to avoid or displace it all, AND still be too afraid to approach someone haha. Anyway, i did the vocals in a few takes so I could just post it and start moving on to song 7. I'm still determined to complete this challenge! Hey, this has got an infectious groove. I could hear it as a great dance or road trip song. "Cuz I'm terrified" is such a great hook. The angsty vibe in the song is relatable. I dig the clever way it ends. Cheers.

Firstly, what a lovely voice, most male pop/rock singers could never. Secondly this is a great fun pop song, done new romantic elements. Just a lot of fun congrats

Yeah I can hear a ton of inspirations in this, but you make them your own. All of the scattered percussion at the start is placed perfectly and adds up. The addictive key riff glues it together.
I guess I listened to this out of order, but is the "banger and a bop" reference in Rock Star pointing to this? Whether it's intentional or not, it really makes the songs feel related and not just "A Song". Love the connective tissue between all of your work, this has the makings of a great album!
