His Dream
Challenge: PUBLIC DOMAINLiner Notes
Had fun tapping into my Irish heritage for this one, and found a poem by and Irish poet William Butler Yeats.
Thanks to @tan482 for adding some fiddle to help fill out the sound, she always knows exactly what it needs!
Lyrics
His Dream - By William Butler Yeats
I Swayed upon the gaudy stern The butt end of a steering oar, And everywhere that I could turn Men ran upon the shore.
And though I would have hushed the crowd, There was no mothers son but said, What is the figure in a shroud Upon a gaudy bed?
And fishes bubbling to the brim Cried out upon that thing beneath, It had such dignity of limb, By the sweet name of Death.
Though I'd my finger on my lip, What could I but take up the song? And fish and crowd and gaudy ship Cried out the whole night long,
Crying amid the glittering sea, Naming it with ecstatic breath, Because it had such dignity By the sweet name of Death.

This is grand. The bass and percussion fill out the sound really nicely, and tan's fiddle is a treat as always. Top stuff.
Very much enjoying this foray into Irish trad. Expert guitar work, and things really take off with the incredible fiddle
Wow. This is superb. The vocal delivery brings someone to mind that I can’t quite remember but I love the sound and feel of this. The melody before the fiddle comes in is especially great. Tan’s fiddle is perfect for this. I’d add this to my Spotify playlist if I could. Superb collab.
Absolutely love it . Nice clear mix and the fiddle is lovely .
Oh man, this is really fine. If you release I will definitely download!
Glorious. That alternate tuned guitar is just sing'n so nicely. Oh man, here comes the fiddle...To die for perfect. Love that percussion too. Such ear candy, all of it. Wonderful listening experience...
This is great! The fiddle really lifted the song and gave a cinematic feel, I felt the fog roll in!
I really like that sort of bluesy/folky guitar style, kinda like World Turning by Fleetwood Mac but somewhat Gaelicified (the fiddle very much helped with that). So expertly done.
