I wanted to make something raw, something not calculated nor perfect. Not on beat, not in tune, not in perfect time, not flowing. Just something that happens. I went towards a two guitar composition before I remembered that I screenshotted a poem on Instagram this week. Luckily I asked permission to use it right away since the poem resonated with me. Thanks Wendi for making this and letting me use it.

Kaskelotti kaunokainen Tuudita mut lauleloillas Pohjan muodot, karut luodot
Suomupyrstö säihkyväinen Näyta mulle piiloriuttas Norjan vuonot, ahvenruohot
Taskurapu terävainen Kutsu minut kotikoloos, Oudot ruodot, kuplavuokot
Siipisimppu siroluinen Kuiski mulle näkemästäs Meriruo'ot, öljyvuodot
Merisulka liehuvainen Hyräile meil suruhymnis Lauttavuorot, pikatuotot
Kilpikonna romuluinen Laskeudutaan vesihautaas Ihmisluonnot, raatokuorot
A poetic translation: Cachalot, Fair and Noble Sing me softly through the currents, Show me depths and jagged shorelines.
Silver tail, aglow and gleaming, Guide me where the shadows whisper Norwegian fjords, swaying seagrass.
Call me homeward, cunning crab, To your caverns, dark and hidden, Drifting bones and ghostly tendrils.
Scorched-red lionfish, hush secrets Of the waters, dim and dying Blackened tides and withering reedbeds.
Feathered sea plume, hum your sorrow, Ferries fleeting, fortunes racing. Burdened turtle, bent and battered, Sink with me to deeper silence— Human wreckage, choirs of corpses.

This is absolutely gorgeous. With or without the translation,the Finnish language stands on it's own, reflecting thousands of years of storytelling.
Your guitar playing echoes vast space, landscape and powerful spirits of the far North. Love the effects.
The poetry of Wendi Kivistö has a depth that I only find from your part of the world. I hope I can listen to this after FAWM somewhere! Stunning composition.

This sounds so gently meditative. Lovely imagery in the (translated) lyrics too. (I have no Finnish, so thank you very much for the translation.)

This sounds very poetic. The Finnish language is so wonderful here. The guitar is awesomd. Its a different side of you.

Just perfect delay. Love how the guitars sometimes sound like one and then split up. As usual I prefer your finish songs even though I don't understand anything. Thanks 🙏
