Fool For You

Liner Notes
This is probably my last one for FAWM, but I have a couple of stubs I might revist if I have time. I don't know how successful it is but I wanted to get my smokey jazz lounge song in. I wanted to Ink Spots it up, but I think I like it like this, simple and smothered in reverb.
Lyrics
See you round Said the pearl to the oyster So long Said the rope to the knot I'll miss you so Said the miss to her mister To think that yesterday I didn't think I had a lot
So am I the kind of fool Who gets a second chance? Or am I the kind of fool Stay's blue? What ever kind of fool I am I'm a fool for you
Ba doo
I wish I knew When a guy should say "uncle" I wish I knew When I should call it a day I wish I knew But I'll sit here and crumble Oh there's a lot of things But tell me one to make you stay
So am I the kind of fool Don't get another chance? Or am I the kind of fool Who do? What ever kind of fool you think I am I'm a fool for you
for you

‘I wish I knew when a guy should say “Uncle”’ is such a great line 😂. Glad you managed one smoky jazz number, you’ve got such a deftness of touch with the melodies on these kind of tunes. The leap up to the high note on ‘blue’ for example. Great sign off!
I do hear seasonings of do-wop. I agree with you that it's fine as is, but that hint of Ink Spots is just enough to tease the ear and mind. I agree with @davidtaro about the "say uncle" line. Brilliant.
