Who Needs the Weight of the World 2

Liner Notes
I was playing around with this ridiculously crappy talkbox I made, decided I liked it as a lead vocal and transcribed what I thought I heard "it" saying. The resulting lyrics sounded to me like the internal dialogue of a christian android at a crossroads. So I developed a little backstory.
Setting: A not-too-distant future dystopia. Our protagonist is a benevolent malfunctioning android with a trusting, youthful personality. This android prefers the pronoun “they” not for reasons having to do with gender but because they think of themselves as plural. They have been living with one of the last surviving human beings inside some sort of home/dome/fortress from which they have been engaged in projects designed to save the remaining humans, their knowledge, their culture and institutions. Their master and creator (the android conflates his creator with Jesus) left 2 days ago on some vague but urgent mission. Something is wrong; he’s been gone too long. The android is trying to convince themselves to help investigate, to leave their fort and responsibilities behind. This is an excerpt of their conversation with themselves. #rock #improvisation #indierock #powerpop #conceptalbum
Lyrics
let me preface this movie where you weren’t without him around would there be no earth we remember what he gave what are you waiting for we remember what he died for
(LET ME SLEEP) and when he went early (LET ME BREATHE) don’t be afraid of what he wants (LET ME THINK) do we remember why? why’d he have to go with the rifle? we need to wonder why
Which way? Should we wait? Is it just a waste of time?
Who needs the weight of the world we’ve been waiting a while
in the movies every human being would be steak tell me why would we wait we’ve been waiting two days
who needs the weight of the world we’ve been ready to run needs the weight of the world we’ve been ready to run

Thanks for participating in my 'ignored instrument' challenge! First 'talk box' I've heard on FAWM, I think! Cool guitar work and interesting backstory!
The talkbox is super fun - haven't heard them too much since the 70s! I'm definitely getting the android s/f vibe. tbh I can't make out the words while listening, but they're a good read!
