There are two days left in the month and I am just filling this out which probably tells you all you need to know. My typical mode of working is through crude, unplanned, multi-track, guitar-based jams only using physical instruments, improvised or semi-improvised first takes, no computer, often no metronome. The end result usually sounds more or less like a live band practice where people are learning the song for the first time. Vocals generally happen last and actual lyrics after that. I've been coming here for the last few years determined to shake the demons of doubt and enjoy some spontaneity, judgement-free creativity... but it hasn't been working out. I shut myself down before I start or just record aimless jams that I am afraid to structure. Decisions are hard. Here's to trying again!
