Secrets our eyes cannot keep
Liner Notes
#F_Am #instrumental #acousticguitar #alto_flute #stackedreverb #improvisation I fancied trying the constraint of only using two chords. https://write.fawm.org/forums/3003 The title is a phrase that came to me while walking my dog, Vinnie, this morning and came about while thinking about a comment a patient at the MS therapy centre where I volunteer made while I was giving her a lift home. She asked me a quite personal question and I dissembled. She told me that my eyes had given her the true answer after all.
Improvised flute over a guitar backing.

Your flute playing is transcendent! I love how the two chord constraint actually freed you up to really fly with the melody.
The title is so true. Our eyes can reveal all in a split second most times. This piece is sublime, reflective, intimate. The sound on your flute is angelic and comforting. You created a river like movement in the melody that defies the two chord structure. What a gift to be able to express an unsettling moment thru the music we get to make. Just beautiful.
Very emotional work, full of feelings and time remembered.
I tried writing a two chord song last night, it sucked. How come yours is so good? 😄 There is a sadness in this otherwise beautiful tune. It's really quite emotional. I found very moving. Thanks for sharing.
That title and the music just paints a really vivid picture. It's a really haunting melody.
Paul - I want to use your title and music as a prompt to write a lyric, or to write lyric after lyric. The phrase and the music are so beautiful. There’s this feeling of having the gift of second sight that is maybe also a little bit of a curse. My daughter’s choir sang the score of The Return of the King recently while the film played. Your song feels like it could be the music for the scene with Galadriel’s mirror.
