Skirmish: The Finish Line (@robinleaf) Challenge: PERSONAL SOUNDTRACKLiner Notes
For the skirmish "The Finish Line"
I managed to get a rough 80s style demo up. I hope you all like it!
Lyrics
The Finish Line
The finish line Laid out in red The many hours That I must tread To reach that line It will not happen anymore But I want more Oh I want more
Finish lines are arbitrary Never want to be contrary Pick a lane and stick to it Learn to live and manage it
Finish lines are made for crossing Pick them up and throw them all behind What will you find What will you find.
I did not make Your finish line But I have made Oh, one of mine
It may be silent May be still But finish it Finish I will

I love the 80's techno vibe, and the reverb-y vocals really fit. In like that verse I did not make the finish line....the whole thing is very cool.
This song transported me to a disco bar, perhaps in a midwestern city. Somewhere young people go who "want more" as they drink and dance. The lyrics are mysterious and can be taken in different ways, depending on the listener's circumstance. Your vocal is just right. Excellent skirmish!
Wow! I love the retro vibe on this and your vocals sound fantastic! I really like how the lyrics had a twist how you were not following someone else's finish line. Bravo! Rock on!
Very cool sound and reminds me of my youth! Exceptional skirmish!
Yes I really do like it! Instrumentation especially the intro hits pretty hard. Enjoyed traveling back to the 80s!
Thanks for your comments on my skirmish song.
Love the techno feel to your song The lyrics are very relatable... Great write
Oooooo, I am really enjoying this! I immediately got a Eurythmics vibe from your music and an Annie Lennox vibe from your vocals! Very sweet take on the skirmish!!!
Oh, it's very authentically 80s - this is the sound I was surrounded by when I was kid. Loving the theme of your lyric here too. This has made me all smiley and nostalgic 😊
I love how you say so little yet say so much !!! the simplicity of your phrasing is so good to read well done you
