I've had this sample of the legendary Maia Arson Crimew saved for over a year now. It's been loaded on my Circuit for just as long. Made a track with it on impulse using Panty Line's bass preset (crushed through a filter and some other shit)

Took a few takes, as I had to play that part by hand. You can hear me mess up a few times, but it's part of the charm

this is great. that kick drum sounds so big and heavy with headphones on. i think there’s a synth in there doing that kind of sliding thing?? i really liked that. it goes nicely with the heavy drums and deep bass. and the sample works real well too. i listened to it twice because it was so good

Reminds me of Steve reich’s early experiment- ‘come out’. I like the way the beat establishes itself slowly and the rapidly decays at the end. The octave slide in the wave part is somehow alarming but a really strong motif that the ear hooks into. Really interesting piece.
