The Way of the Balloons (Eachtra na Balúin) Deirdre M Murphy Capo 3 A E When the superpowers were ruled by new dictators A And all marginalized voices went unheard D Someone said it’s time to leave this planet E A And all the secret magic folk stirred D A They said, we aren’t rich enough for spaceships E A But there’s really no reason we should stay D A So everyone who hears us should buy a balloon D A ‘Cause where there’s a will (and magic) there’s a way

So someone declared Monday Internet Balloon Day And soon the stores’ supplies were all bought out And on Monday people packed their treasures And blew up the balloons with a joyous shout

So, none of us are rich enough for rockets
But we have enough balloons for what we need today
So we fasten our balloons securely to ourselves and go

‘Cause where there’s a will (and magic) there’s a way

Then we floated through the skies to a new homeworld Free from guns, pollution, and the super-rich They must have looked up from their morning coffees To find themselves abandoned, they’d been ditched

Now, all of us are rich enough, not wealthy
We’ve found a kinder place, and here we’ll stay
We treasure our balloons, they take us where we need to go

‘Cause where there’s a will (and magic) there’s a way
