Say Cheese

#guywithguitar #acousticonetake The writing prompt described a mountain of cheese. I thought of this dubious tale of manifesting wealth amid a disaster scene that might involve a tornado.
Lyrics
It’s already a mountain And they keep dragging it in A fresh start they said I don’t know where to begin
Opportunity knocks Beggars don’t get to choose Rats in a cheese shop We’ve got no time to lose
A windfall and the color is gold All you say is more please Like cash it’s hard and it’s cold So you can smile and say cheese
You could call it a disaster Or you could call it a moment What do you know about cheddar Now the doors are wide open
Imagine in thirteen years When we try to tell the tale We knew we were millionaires When we put it all on the scale
A windfall and the color is gold All you say is more please Like cash it’s hard and it’s cold So you can smile and say cheese
So you can smile and say cheese

Reminds me at first just a touch of the children's book (and later movie) "Cloudy, With a Chance of Meatballs" -- "gold" is a great lyric to write in when we're talking about cheddar. This is sort of obliquely about cheese and yet not, which I really appreciate.
I love this song! Love the chords and I also hear some Neil Young influence which I absolutely love! Your words are really good too...they make me think! Great skirmishing!
I like it Rick, we think it sounds a bit Neil Young-ish
It's all about the cheese. Nice one!
Nice lyrics, I like the rats in a cheese shop line
A very thoughtful and incisive lyric, and some imaginative and appropriately dissonant chords to underline. Nice start 👌
Some Pink Floyd vibes here. Lyrics are great, love the line about millionaires. And I like the way you sing the last line in the chorus.
