Liner Notes

Here's another track for my next album, though I feel like I've lost myself a bit. I can do lyrics, I can do a beat but putting them together is still tricky, I'll have an intro I like but then I'll have to switch it to match the vocals and then I don't know what I'm doing and kinda mess things up like here. I feel like this can be interpreted in multiple ways, when I wrote it I was kinda thinking some advanced robot from the 60s finally gets put to use just to do annoying work it wasn't meant to do

Lyrics

They wrote my brain In Algol 68 They dusted me off Took me out of storage Now I spend my days Writing JavaScript all day

The code doesn't work But I'm not getting payed Now I spend my days Writing JavaScript all day

Why can't they use TypeScript instead Then I would understand They made a mistake Putting me in charge Now I spend my days Writing JavaScript all day

Even the debugger Doesn't know what's wrong Now I spend my days Writing JavaScript all day

Now I spend my days Writing JavaScript all day Writing JavaScript all day JavaScript all day

Nice! Love the robotic video game like backing and the lyric which could be literal or as a metaphor for any outdated or less currently relevant thing that we hold onto. I remember working in a computer lab in college and there were people learning COBOL to maintain all of the aging systems that were still running on the ancient code. 🙌🎶

I really enjoyed this! I'm still writing Visual Basic applications and can relate. On messing things up, I couldn't tell and mistakes tend to lead to a more unique sound. That happened in this case. 01000111 01110010 01100101 01100001 01110100 00100000 01101010 01101111 01100010 00100001 (Great job!)

Well that was funny! 😀 I think lyrics and the music works together well. And I can definately hear the 60's robot thing, or maybe this is a country-equivalent for computer-geeks?
