The Time That's Left

Liner Notes
Every FAWM, I write at least a couple of songs bemoaning, or sometimes celebrating my age. (I'm most likely older than your dad.) But, I'm happy just to be upright and take sustenance!
Here's my current take on the subject, please feel free to demo this one if it speaks to you. Also, feel free to wordsmith it as it fits your needs! #needsmusic #older #needscollab #lyricsonly
Lyrics
Every tick, a quiet whisper Calling out my name The sands are slipping quickly No two grains the same I’ve wasted too much waiting Dreaming far too small Now I feel the echo of The clock against that wall
CH It’s the time that’s left Not the time that’s gone A fleeting fire where we belong I’ll stand up strong, and give it all I’ve got Make every heartbeat count Use everything I’m taught
The past is just a shadow That fades into the night The future is a promise That’s waiting for its light But today’s a spark of magic A picture still unframed A story yet unwritten A song to be reclaimed
CH It’s the time that’s left Not the time that’s gone A fleeting fire where we belong I’ll stand up strong, and give it all I’ve got Make every heartbeat count Use everything I’m taught
BR Every moment is golden Every choice is a key Unlocking doors of wonder Setting the spirit free. So no more hesitation No fear of what’s unknown, The time that’s left me Is all mine to own.
CR It’s the time that’s left Not the time that’s gone A fleeting fire where we belong I’ll stand up strong, and give it all I’ve got Make every heartbeat count Use everything I’m taught
OUTRO And when my story’s over And the curtain finally falls Let them say I lived it No regrets at all

Time is kind of a dick, huh? lol nah it’s ok. Very cool set of lyrics. Has a sense of urgency but also a calm to it. Very nice!
Welcome back, Phylo! I’ve enjoyed your work in prior years. And as one who’s also old enough to see those grains of sand slipping through the hourglass. I’m at work tonight but might take a shot at putting music to your words. Cheers!
Hi I really like your lyrics here and - if you haven't had any takers already - I'd be quite keen to have a go at setting them to music. I'm no spring chicken either by the way - you'd have to be going some to be older than my dad. Lol.
