Life is good

#acousticonetake #folk #tribute So this is a tribute to my nephew Todd, who passed away too soon last summer. He was 55 and had stomach cancer diagnosed a few years ago. He was the son of my oldest brother, who had him at 19. So Todd was only 7 years younger than me. My parents basically raised him, so he was more of a younger brother than a nephew. He was a beloved nephew, grandson, and friend to everyone who knew him. Its hard to express how special he was, in a 3-minute song. But he was always very positive, despite the difficulties he endured in life. This is for him...RIP my brother...
Lyrics
He always said, Life is good He never waivered from where he stood
When I look back upon his life He didn’t always have it so nice
But you’d never know from talking to him He’d say it was all good uncle Tim
Refrain Life is Good laughter is free Don’t worry bout the things that happened to me
Raised by his grandma when his mom left town he always had Love from the family around
His dad had some demons with the drink but he let it go it made him think refrain He got married To a wonderful girl a pair of daughters were his whole world
The doctors said he might have a year he lived for 2 more without any fears
Friends and family had to gather around everyone had stories his love was abound refrain
Now that hes gone its left a big hole Its left us all to wonder who will fill the roll
Hard to imagine life without him his presence is felt without and within Refrain
I like to say he was too good for this world I can see he’s alive In the face of his girls

Tim, I was so saddened that you lost someone that close to you in such a special, close relationship, one that made you brothers, and far too young as well. This song is such an amazing tribute to your nephew and his beautiful message that will live on through your song.
This is great, Tim. I'm so sorry for your loss. He sounds like a really great guy. Love that his positivity is what sticks with you. This is a really nice tribute. Life is good. Laughter is free. Yes. That's got some serious hooks to it. Thanks for being so honest in your songwriting.
so sorry for your loss. <3 this is a beautiful tribute to your nephew! I especially love the line "laughter is free" - his attitude towards life is inspiring - thank you for sharing this!
Goosebumps! What a wonderful tribute to Todd. This recording sounds like a acoustic stripped down version of what could have been a 90's indie-rock full band version. I love that. Great performance, heartfelt words.
