So happy to be here on my Fifteenth FAWM to write and hear some brand new songs from fellow FAWMers from around the world.

I have no idea what I'm going to write about this year but that's the beauty of this process, add a deadline and inspiration from the gang and the songs just sort of show up.

Hey Joe. Congratulations on another great Fawm. 16 songs!? Wow that was a creative outburst. I also wanted to thank you again for all the thoughtful comments again. I mentioned to Todd it would be great to get together in person with the 3 of us. Hopefully in Mpls in summertime? Anyway thanks again for the support.

Hey Joe, thanks for the comments on The Code of Me. I rewrote the liner notes after you and tspoon commented on it. I was giving AI a bit too much credit. It came up with all of the parts, except drums, which was just a loop. Its parts were loops too...I'd program the notes/chords in a measure or two and loop the rest. And it came up with all of the lyrics. But it had the intro part I have for 2 measures playing for 8 followed by 7+ minutes of all four tracks playing at the same time. It said to mute tracks to create different parts, which I did, but it didn't say which ones or at what time. So I essentially arranged it into a song and would consider it a cowrite. Now if it had been able to export a full song with vocals and everything that would be a different story. Although you could argue that most people aren't going to ask the exact same questions or have the same dialog with it to get an output that's exactly the same either, so that's something to think about too. Anyway, I had a blast with this one. Learned a little about MIDI and it was bonkers following its direction for creating the parts, including troubleshooting MIDI/Logic with me. I think there are other AI bots that will create full songs. That to me would be something different. Anyway, thanks so much for checking it out. Just wanted to respond because even though I maxed out the character count in my liner notes I still kind of got it wrong. I was impressed what it did, but it's not accurate to say it wrote the whole song.

You're killing it this FAWM. You always pull through at the end too. So impressive. I realize there's one of yours I haven't listened to yet and I'm going to do that right now. Let's catch up when this is all over for sure.

Hey Joe! I can't believe we're here again. Another year has come and gone and we're back to do what we love best—writing songs. Looking forward to the tunes you come up with. You always keep me surprised and I have no doubt you'll come up with some future gems that I'll insist should be on your next record.
