What Do We Do
by @madeline
Liner Notes
Fun with vocal offsets and harmony.
Lyrics
Once again tell me what happened When everything started to change I imagine taking that left fork And roaming right out of range
Want to pretend Nothing is wrong Acting like we know it all Never the people to blame Moving alone in our cars Traffic fills with everyone Feeling the same
2x What do we do What do we do What do we do
A red light nowhere in sight It's only downhill now This ride's a no holds barred fight Only hearing no sound
Want to pretend Nothing is wrong Acting like we know it all Never the people to blame Moving alone in our cars Traffic filled with everyone Feeling the same
2x What do we do What do we do What do we do
Maybe one day what happens
Is you'll tell me what happened
When everything started to change

I like the way the overall mood is matched: sounds and lyrics and dynamics. The drips of sound (?!) e.g. behind the initial "Once again..." verse are nicely subtle; as are the, um, gated synth sounds (I need to work on my commenting skills!) that nudge for attention.
Came back to hear the audio! This was amazing! Loved the harmonies. Your voice is beautiful!!!!
I love the guitar loop, these harmonies are great too! My favorites are on “what do we do.” Im going to have to second newuke on the traffic line!
I really like these lyrics. My favorite lines are: "Traffic fills with everyone/Feeling the same." I'm glad that got a repeat. The final stanza is also quite nice as a bittersweet button.
Can’t wait to hear the audio! Lovely relatable lyrics. Love the lines “moving alone in our cars, traffic filled with everyone feeling the same” paints a picture and a feeling I never realized was there.
Very melodic, loved the harmonies very much. Drums add a great dynamic to the song!
