Lyrics
I can't stand The thought of heaven I thought I left that concept in the past
Some special tea Took me out And said "not so fast"
We are one We are the universe I am all I am the universe
I am you And you are me To infinity (But I don't want to be)
I wanted nothing after death Nothing after my last breath I wanted nothing after death

Fine song on an important -indeed VITAL - subject
Your narrator shouldn't worry too much. I think she will get her wish. As conscious beings we are aware of our mortality, but it is such a terrifying thing to come to terms with that power seekers exploited that fear to come up with fairy stories about surviving death that had the catch that you didn't get to survive afterwards unless you followed the rules they laid down.
But non-existance is applicable to everything we know in the universe. Stars can burn for bilions of our years, but eventually cease to be. Why there should be an exception for us clever monkeys is beyond me. Pax et Bonum!
I am ex-religious, and I very much rate the way you explore this topic, so succinctly and elegantly expressed. I like your use of tenses in the last line, they bring nuance and resonance to your exploration. A great listen.
Great music, and the lyrics to the point. Good skirmish.
The intro really pulled me in and the rest of the song got me hanging in, great song!
so straightforward and subversive, i don't think i've ever heard anyone talk about hating the idea of heaven. fab
I like this very much! The piano repetition is insistent but fits with what feels like a powerful rant against issues with which you have struggled. Nice work!
Wow - great stuff - the anger comes through - especially at the beginning but then you go into the universe section and it's quite breathtakingly beautiful. I love this. p.s. totally agree with the sentiment.
Oooh that piano and melody intertwining their way into my ear. I like the play on words and the sneaky contrasts. Effective for me. I like this one!
Hi, this is so raw and honest. i loved the melody and you have a cool voice.
This is fabulous and I love how the vocals end kind of abruptly and then that low piano note just holds out. Great skirmish!
Kinda catchy and upbeat contrasting the end of it all. Sounds good.
This goes in a direction I would not have anticipated. Very original and bold. I like the directness of the piano accompaniment and, as always, I love the vocals!
