Skirmish: What would you do with a ... (@robinleaf)Liner Notes
Inspired by the "What would you do with a time machine" skirmish (but not an official entry) Somewhat inspired by Chris Cornell's "Preaching the End of the World": A very sincere narrator with a skewed perspective
Lyrics
Listen, you don’t know me yet But I know you You need to hear what I have to say Can I get just a minute of your day
Cause I’ve been to a future Where I’m with you Please don’t walk away
Listen, I know this sounds crazy The words don’t make sense I would never hurt you The way you’ll hurt me But look into my eyes and you can see
I’ve been to a future Where I’m with you Please don’t walk away
Sometimes I have my doubts ‘bout the effects of butterflies What if I’ve changed what’s gonna be? Then I catch a glimpse of you and once again I know
I’ve been to a future Where I’m with you Please don’t walk I’ve seen how happy we’re gonna be Why are you walking away? Why are you walking away?

@sheslin yeah there are a lot of similar effects with different names and subtle differences. On this track I ran a mic to the acoustic and panned it to the left, and took the acoustic pickup output from the guitar and panned it right. The mic output just got a bit of reverb, but I added some chorus and spin on the reverb plugin for the pickup channel, which gives it a bit of tremolo (rotary?) effect, which is what I think you're reacting to. Just something I wanted to play around with. Thanks for the comments!
OH wow the delay/reverb/echo (I never really know) is sort of pitch bending which is very cool under your gorgeous right on pitch vocals. It gives it a cool sci fi time travel kind of feel - perfect prosody! I also like the complex narrator whose words sound safe but is his actions are very creepy! Great skirmish!
Great first line, in a good-scary way--very intriguing. I especially like: I'll never hurt you/The way you'll hurt me. Brilliant, especially for the song prompt! I love it when the lyrics are as good as the rest of the song!
Nice write! The contrast between being hurt and happy in the two choruses is great, making the final question even more poignant. Love the quantum reference.
Excellent crunch to the chords and a really cool guitar tone support your vocal well.
Beautiful guitar, I love the chord progressions and the melody is unique and catchy!! Great vocals!!! Love the time traveller concept...the lyrics are so very clever!! Kudos fawmling!!! Love your stuff!!
Yes I got Bowie too, with that chord change especially (which I've also nicked - if you're going to steal...!) Your superb vocal elevates this, but the lyrics are interesting too - just a bit different from the conventional.
What an interesting perspective to take. Reminds me of The Time Machine. The vocal melody is great!
my head said Bowie halfway through the first verse.
outstanding melody. solid lyric with an excellent story.
and, it's a love song, so we all win, because love songs rock.
This is so lovely, I really did that chord progression, and that vibrato in your voice really suits the vibe. I can hear the Chris Cornell influence, may her rest in peace.
